SHANUM” in SHANUM Multicultural Society for Social Responsibility came from “SHA (a symbolic nickname of SNU)” and “NUM (sharing)

SHANUM Multicultural Society for Social Responsibility is where SNU members with various nationalities and backgrounds can carry out social responsibility activities together. International and domestic students as well as faculty and staff members all can participate and involve in planning and delivering diverse activities for the local community.

Social Responsibility Activities by Multicultural SNU Members

This program enables SNU members with multicultural backgrounds to carry out social responsibility activities with issues in the local communities in the local communities.
The members are helped to use their knowledge and expertise to extend the opportunities to exchange with multicultural youths and immigrants and to plan and practice social responsibility activities for the local communities.

Implementation of Social Responsibility Activities to Multicultural Demands

The institutions and subjects having demands are identified in the local communities to provide supports in connection with the SNUSR.
In this program, social responsibility activities optimized to the multicultural institutions are carried out from April to January, including the mentoring for multicultural youths, English conversation classes for older adults, and other supporting activities for local communities

Increasing International Mindset and Cultivating Global Citizenship

This program allows the participants to plan creative and innovative SR social responsibility activities and practice sharing with diverse groups of the society.
This program helps the SNU members to cultivate their global citizenship by increasing their community spirit and cultural sensibility.
A total of 62 SNU members participated in the program between the fall semester in 2013 and 2020.
